REPORT: Michael Hayes will be “out for a while” as he undergoes surgery
We would like to send along best wishes to legendary “Freebird” Michael Hayes.
Ringside News reported today that Hayes will be “out for a while” because he is going to undergo hip surgery. Hayes works behind-the-scenes at WWE will be taking time off and his duties will be filled by Pat Buck, who was brought back after being released in April due to budget cuts.
Hayes has been with the company since the mid 90s and is considered to be one of Vince McMahon’s most trusted employees.
At NXT TakeOver: In Your House he made a cameo of sorts when he was shown on the wall backstage during Johnny Gargano’s entrance. The photo shown was of his Dok Hendrik from his Dok Hendrik persona that many fans would associate with the mid 90s “New Generation” era of the WWF.
Hayes is expected to return to work once he is fully recovered. We send best wishes to him.
